Elongate The Life Of Air Condition Filters By Timely Cleaning

Air conditioner is basically a cooling device that helps reducing the level of humidity in a particular room. These are an indispensable part of any home as these beautifully counteract the effect of biting heat. For the effective working of the appliance, each and every air conditioning unit is provided with the filters.

As is the case with any other gadget, these filters need timely and regular care and upkeep. Since these are prone to going bad with the use, the cost of the air conditioner goes high if we keep filters changing. So we have a solution to this problem.

Turn off the air conditioning unit while cleaning the filter. Locate the ventilation duct where the filter is positioned. There are two types of air conditioning units depending upon the position of the filters. You can find them both on the walls or at the ceilings.

Just take out the hatch by opening of two screws on two latches on the top of the hatch where air filter is placed. Carefully pull out the filter from the duct, if it is placed on the ceiling. Filters placed on walls need not to be taken out.

The filter must be thoroughly cleaned with the help of a vacuum cleaner. This is done by running the filter on the hose of the vacuum cleaner. Having cleaned the filter in this fashion, we notice the amount of dust that was deposited on it. The very look of the filter has changed from a dusty grey to a bluish and little translucent.

After having cleaned the filter, it must be ensured the there is no dirt or the dust remaining on it. We should place the filter back at its place and screw the latches and the hatch properly.

If you neglect to regularly maintain your air conditioning filters, you probably realize at some point, your air conditioners takes a longer time to cool and seem to consume more power when you check the electricity bills.

If timely cleaning of the device is ignored somehow, the compressor of the appliance may go off completely. Also, its replacement may cost you heavily.
