The 6 Sure-Fire Tips For a Clutter-Free Home0
Decluttering your house is a step towards having a more successful life. When your surroundings are organized and in order, you’ll find that your mind will be uncluttered as well.
1. Quit Buying “Stuff”. This is probably one of the hardest things to do for people who are in the habit of buying stuff. Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean you need it or should go buy it.
2. Stop Procrastinating. Choose one small easy job to do every day. After you’ve developed this as a new habit, you’ll be ready to take on a few bigger projects. If you tackle the smaller jobs, it will make the declutter process a lot easier. If you try to tackle the whole house at once, it will overwhelm you.
3. Stop Hoarding. Collecting stuff and piling it up is obviously no good. Get out of the habit of collecting stuff. If you can end the hoarding madness, you’re more than half-way there to declutter heaven.
4. Stay on Target. Consistency is the ultimate key to getting and staying decluttered. Focus on smaller projects, even a shelf at a time if necessary and keep these smaller projects limited to 15 minutes per day. If you have time and can do more, great. The key though, is to keep at it until it’s done and if for you that means spreading it out over several weeks for just a few minutes a day, then do it!
5. Throw Stuff Away. Get in the habit of throwing stuff away. If you’re holding onto something you never use and has absolutely no value in your life, throw it away. Get in the habit of throwing stuff away because it will make decluttering so much easier.
6. A Place For Everything. A place for everything and everything in it’s place is a motto every clutter free homemaker lives by. Prioritize your stuff and find a place for it from most important to least. As soon as you run out of organized places, start throwing stuff away.
Getting and staying organized will make your life a lot easier to manage. Decluttering is more than just a physical change to things around the house, it is a mindset change and won’t necessarily come easy. Stick with it and you’ll achieve your goals.
